Hi My Fashion Divas,
Dubai the city of conservative fashion is not what everyone says or thinks it is. In Fact I think I spent way to much time thinking what do I take, what should I wear, I don’t want to offend anyone or worst get arrested. I had too much sex and the city 2 on my mind, remember what happened to Samantha.. and I was seriously over thinking it! Once I was in Dubai I realized it is such a melting pot of cultures that as long as you were not walking around naked or showing too much skin you were fine. I saw everything from super tight dresses, woman wearing shorts, woman covered from head to toe etc. I usually dress conservative so I felt comfortable except when we had to go to Abu Dhabi, I certainly was overthinking and I dressed like a crazy person, I wore a maxi dress with leggings underneath with a long sleeve top over my dress and a big sweater, I was hot, uncomfortable and wearing too much clothes. Luckily our tour had a stop at the mall in Abu dhabi where H & M came to my rescue, I purchased some loose pants and a tunic short sleeve top and paired it with my big sweater and I was super comfortable and dressed appropriately for the mosque. Besides that one overthinking moment, I wore leggings, jeans, my go to jean jacket, flip flips, dressy blouses, wedges, casual tops and I always had a scarf with me for those cold malls, metros and taxi cabs. Overall, dress appropriate, do not overthink it and do not show too much skin. Most importantly, be comfortable!
XOXO,
Patty <3
